Any ideas on removing sand from kids sun-safe swimsuits? They look fine until you stretch the nylon fabric.?

Wash them...

get it dry-cleaned!!

Wash them in the washer in cold water and a gentle cycle. That should do it.

Wheres the best place to buy swimsuits for kids?

For team and cmpetition, Speedo.com, TYR.com or any department store that sells name brand racing suits. Competitive kids will outgrow their suits quickly but they still need good suits.

As for recreational swimming, WalMart has cheap suits and so does Target. Also, end-of-the-season sales are spectacular for getting next year's suits!

Have you tried Target? (Okay, it's technically in Daly City, but just a few miles south of SF) They carry them, and you won't pay an arm and a leg for them there.

How to remove musty chlorine smell from swimsuits?

My kids' swimsuits smell awful. I've tried vinegar, Chlor Out, borax, baking soda, OxyClean, and lemon juice, but nothing has helped. What else could I try, aside from burning them?

I've always washed my suit in woolite after every use. I don't know if it'd take the smell out if it's stuck in the fabric, but my suit doesn't smell like the pool in the slightest.

Try rinsing swimsuits in Sodium Thio Sulfate (AntiChlor).

This chemical has neutral pH and will neutralize Chlorine residue on any fabric (without damaging it).

There are many suppliers in the US or just Google suppliers & chemical name.

Fill up the sink with water and Fabric softener. Let them soak for a day, ring them out then hang in the sun to dry.
